How To Repair Damaged Hair
Are you struggling to repair damage and grow your hair out?
I've got some tips and tricks to help you out!
Start with understanding the 4 types of damage:
Mechanical Damage: Brushing your hair, putting it up in a pony tail/bun, drying your hair roughly with a towel, using hot water, etc.
Heat Damage: Consistently using heat on your hair (especially without a heat protectant)
Chemical Damage: Including bleaching and colouring your hair
Environmental Damage: Wind, being out in the sun for hours, etc.
Now that you know how you can cause damage, here's a few tips to prevent it:
Always use a heat protectant spray or cream!
Turn down the heat! Heat is not great for your hair, so read the manual of your hot tools and set it according to their recommendations for your hair type.
Gently brush your hair! Use a detangler before brushing and make sure you're using the right type of brush. (dry brush on dry hair, wet brush on wet hair, etc.)
Stop bleaching your hair! It may be time to rest your hair for a bit while it's in the repairing stage.
Do an oil treatment frequently! I highly recommend one that has no silicones/waxes so that it penetrates to the third most layer of your hair (like Rejuveniqe Oil).
Finally, make sure you're using quality hair products! The wrong products can easily leave build up on your scalp.. which in turn causes your hair to grow in much weaker. Make sure you take care of your scalp too!
